what do you guys think of rough country lifts , are they good quality? I think there pricing is exellent I was going to buy a RUBICON EXPRESS 3.5 but for the same money I can get a 6.5 ROUGH COUNTRY lift with full leaf package WOW , that will enable me to put 33" on my 2000 XJ , go big or go home is my motto lol...

you can fit 33's on the 3.5"

6.5" will require more parts than the kit shows
sye and cv shaft and steering are the main items to address at that height.
and 6.5" of lift on shortarms rides terribly.

yeah i thought the same thing you did! Add about another $1000 or better to get all the extra stuff youll need, i probably spent close to $2500 or more including wheels and tires probably close to $3000

these things are true but remember the rubicon kits dont come with shocks and their shocks are like $80 each. plus if you dont want to cut your body you will need at least 5" for 33's

if you do get the rough country kit, don't get the short arm one, shell out the extra 300 for the long arm kit. it has better shocks, much better quality and quieter quick disconnects, softer springs, and of coarse.....long arms! it will handle 33" tires with no problem, but you will still need a SYE and new drive shaft. i pulled the front one off a 1999-2004 jeep grand Cherokee and used it in the rear of mine. works great. but be advised at that height you will need a steering brace, they go for about $70.

So with a 3.5 inch Rubicon Express kit I should be able to install 32 inch tires without having to cut anything correct or are 31`s max for that height with 15 inch rims

may require some slight trimming, but its a nice setup

just because vibes arent there, doesn't mean damage is being done.

i prefer to coast over rocks than have rocks shock the entire jeep when i run them over. longarm kits arent just for a better street ride. i like a smooth ride offroad from obstacle to obstacle.
flex is a moot point with longarms, but there are several benefits to a flatter control arm angle

So with a 3.5 lift 31" tires is the max right, without trimming , does that equal to 265/75/15 ???

that equals 30.6" x 10.4 - 15 so yoes that is how big most 31's actually are

yes they do and remember you can always upgrade to the long arms and better shocks down the road.

Could just go 4.5 RC. Thats what I have, there arn't any needed things to get. It comes with pretty much everything you need. I can fit 33's though by cutting they don't looked crammed. I am currently running 32" swampers and they fit, and look good.
