Unhappy rough idle, cyl3 misfire, ecg goes to red but no overheat. PLEASE HELP

So I got my 2000 Cherokee back in March, ran great up until acouple weeks when the cps went and it wouldn't start. I replaced that and it started fine but then just this week I started to have more problems. The other when I was driving the coolant gauge went up to red and the check gauges light came on then the check engine light. So I used my code reader. It said cyl3 misfire. So I changed the spark plug, put new thermostat in, and cleaned the fuel injectors. Now what's weird was when I changed the spark plug and started it up everything was running perfect no rough idle. And slimed great but the check engine light was still on, so I turned it off and deleted the code. Then when I started the jeep again hell broke loose! Really rough idle, smoke and coolant puttering out of the tailpipe. And the check engine light started blinking so I quickly turned it off. I forgot to mention I put in a new cool pack assembly. So I'm kinda stuck here. Yesterday I drove it around my neighborhood and ran fine, after I deleted the code again, alittle shaky idle but not major, no smoke out of the tailpipe, temp stayed at 210 but one I puled into my driveway the coolant gauge went to red! I turned it off and just turn the key so the just the power was on and the coolant gauge was back at 210 so I don't know what to do here. Please help!!!

Well none of that is good. I would stop driving it around asap. If you had coolant flavored smoke out of the tailpipe it could be a cracked head or blown head gasket. Open the oil filler and look inside, do you see a crack or bubbling? Does your oil look milky?

You have a cracked head.
