Ive always used penzoil and it seems to work fine What would be best to put in your gas to clean it up.

i just don't know anymore....i was actually going to buy some of there gear oil, i figure with their "dry lube" technology it would work the best in a diff were its only filled up half way with fluid

synthetics seem overrated to me , sometimes its actually to slippery for some things work normaly as intended , espeacially in gear oil , and the price is rediculous espeacially when out in the mud and water where youll be draining it and replacing way more then an average vehicle

in the marine industry (and nothing takes more abuse than gas in boats, with salt and condensation) we always use and now after a two years of use pretty much swear by this stuff called "startron" made by starbright. it is an enzyme feel treatment and those little enzymes i guess go to work on your fuel and it also cured any problems we were having with the ethanol gas http://mystarbrite.com/startron/ i don't work for these guys or anything but here is a link lol. and keep in mind this is the coming from the same guy that puts royal purple in my engine so i might be an idiot

What if I havent used synthetics prior to this...i have been told it isnt a good idea to switch over to a synthetic oil after running conventional up to this point. Mine has 150,000 mi on it...and the reasoning was it might be too good for it, break down stuff and cause leakes...what do ya'll think? plausible?

yea its deff plausible , i run regular penzoil or castrol and add a quart of lucas oil stabilizer that seems to work just fine

your right i've heard of that too i just haven't used it myself like the startron. i sure it could be a whole new thread on what kind of fuel additive is best to use...i personally for my fuel in my xj strictly only use shell gas.

you know its funny, I get my Gas from Wawa most of the time, cause its cheapest (Eastern PA if you dont know what a wawa is), but Im pretty sure I get better gas mileage from Sunoco and the best from BP...just my random realizations, not proven either, I just feel that way. As far as Gumout goes...that stuff has been recomended to me a billion and a half times...used it....didnt notice a damn thing. I suppose it did something...i doubt it hurt anything thats for sure.

lucas makes some of the best fuel treatment ive used , and i stay away from shell , my vehicles have always ran like poop on shell , mainly there super because they add something to it

i use to lucas oil stabilizer as well whenever i remember to buy it at least because i've seen it fix boat engines lol. i am surprised to hear you've had bad experience with shell but i do not doubt it. and to tjheems on your quality gasoline theory, i couldn't agree with you more. i know wawa has the cheapest but i feel like whenever i have that in the tank i burn through it way faster than i burn though shell gas, just an idea but its good enough for me to only buy strictly shell

I love Lucas products. I use it in my xj, and my race car.
