Rubber differential plug
#16
Old fart with a wrench
Are you OCD or something? Wasting 2 days of our time obsessing about a rubber plug? I've only replaced a plug one time and that's because I popped a hole in it by using too small a screwdriver. I've worked at Valvoline Instant Oil Change for several years and we never had a leak and we checked the rear diff every oil change. Check your vent to make sure it's not pressurizing.

A NICE NEW ONE IS SUPPLE AND SEALS BETTER THAN AN OLD HARDENED ONE.
Just pop one in and be done with it.
