Rubber splash shield ???
Just curious if people remove that anoying rubber splash shield under the front of the Jeep. Mine is on there but those little platic push screws are starting to wear and not holding it as well.
Also, the shield itself is distorted and hangs down flapping in the wind, looks kinda tacky.
Thought about pulling it off but assume it keeps water and crap from getting up into the engine bay.
Any comments?

I had mine off but after a couple trips, I put it back on. The biggest reason I found to keep it on is to protect my alternator from mud. Believe me, alternators do not like mud.

engine splash shield clips
I have the same problem of the shield falling off but I definitly want to keep it. The more protection the better.
The clips to keep it fastened are an outrageous 3,80$ per piece at a Jeep dealer. I have not found them on the web nor the shield.
Does anybody know where to buy a shield and especially the clips for a reasonable price?
Thank you.

Anyone having any "issues" yet after removing your underside splash shield? Mine fell to pieces so I removed it today -- I'm thinking I should replace it for the added protection underneath -- any thoughts?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Not to be a burden but does someone have a pic of what this is. I may have mine. If it's what I'm thinking. And if it is. It's gonna go back on the protect from mud in the alt.

I think they are some kind of felt material. Mine keep falling down because the mounting holes enlarged. So I cut a couple of shoulder washers out an old milk cartoon. about 2 1/2" dia. Put them under the clips. And it hasn't fallen in 2 years now. I prefer to keep crap out the engine bay.
