Rubicon express. Lift questions.

I installed the RE6025 kit on my 94 XJ and I'm very happy with it. It's about 8 months now and no sag. This kit will give you 4.5 to 5" of lift. I needed to install an SYE kit and longer drive shaft and also 6 degree rear leaf shims. Now I'm now trying to decide on wheel and tire size. I have 31x10.50x15 on the stock wheels and they look lost.

RE 3.5" got me 4.25" up front. Built a set of leaf springs for the back using leafs from an S-10. I also picked up a full set of RE Monotube shocks to go with the lift.
Ride, firm but not hard where it bounces all over the place. Firm in the sense it feels stable on the rough stuff when giving it the go pedal. On road it rides better the my stock suspension with 180k miles did. I have no complaints, RE shipped quick and install was straight forward.
Almost forgot no SYE or TC drop for me, mine is a '96.

I got about 4.5 all around. I have 31's right now and they look fine. They rub a little when i cut the wheel while reversing and when I flex but nothing major. Eventually the fender flares will get ripped off, then I will upgrade to 32's or 33's.

Hmmm, I may reconsider AAL's. Thing is my leaf pack is sitting flat right now so they're pretty worn out. Most people say if your leafs aren't healthy at the time of the install AALs only hold their lift height for a year or so. I'd love to save some money, but I'd hate for it to be a waste down the road. All my prior lifts have been from the junkyard, rode rough, I'm ready for something nice this time around lol.
Everything I've read and been told by mechanics, Jeepers, etc. says to STAY AWAY FROM THE ROUGH COUNTRY LIFTS. There's a senior member here with an entire thread devoted to it. I'm installing the R.E. + additional shocks from Rancho i think. The RE kits are good solid ones (though a bit stiff) from all the reviews and builds I've seen.
As far as your leafs go...if they're flat, replace em! AAL's will only add to what you already have...which means you'll (ultimately) just have higher flat springs (like me lol). Replace the springs. As an alternate, you could just go with the OEM Heavy Duty springs (7 inch arch as opposed to the stock standard 5 inch arch), then add the AAL's. I think quadratec has replacement leafs for just over 100 bucks each.
Bottom line is it's better to just replace the spring pack now instead of later. I would also recommend replacing your shock bushings and spring isolators if you haven't already, especially if you still have the stock ones. It helps to make sure your front shocks haven't come loose and are stretching out the hole in the frame...mine did, and it's a pain to fix. Timely bushing replacement can prevent that.
Good luck and be sure to take photos/video of your upgrade from when it arrives in the box, all the way through installation and then flexing on something! Look forward to seeing it!

Rusty's 3 inch coil springs 99.00 a pair, choice of standard or heavy spring rates.

Then get your U-bolts, bushings, brake lines, or reposition them, then get some good shocks and you should be ready to go

I love my RE kit! Good quailty and have not had any problems with it so far, its just over a year old. I do have a tc drop, but i do think i may need a sye here in the near future...Hack n tap for 200$ with driveshaft?, not a bad deal....Dont bother going to junk lifts cause their cheaper, stay with quailty and you wont regret it

RE 3 1/2"
I just got the RE 3 1/2" lift and had a few questions about how too!
This is my first lift so i'm not sure where the speed bumps are going to be and i'm not sure what tools are nessary. Do i need to get a coil compressor or is there an alternate tool i can use in its place? If you have any input i would really appriciate it and if you could also let me know what problems i might run into. Thanks for your time guys.

am in the end stages of installing RE6025. Great kit, great company! Sooo much easier to have all of the quality parts that are designed to fit there when you need them. Also, was confused about the quicklink swaybar links, one call to RE and bam! Question WILLINGLY spot-on answered. Didnt need a coil spring compressor but was on a lift and could finagle the coil spring around the bump stop pad, plus axle was on jack stands. Biggest thing I would say is to make sure you spray plenty of quality lube (I used Aero Kroil) days and weeks ahead of your planned lift date. Also to have some heat (torch) available along with an air hammer gun. On my 96 there's two bolts on the front end where the bottom of the sway bar link attaches that had to removed and replaced with RE's longer version. The bolts are machined to fit and no amount of pounding would take off. Using an air hammer gun and chisel, they popped right off. On the rear springs all four bolts and some of the ubolts required heat to remove. Casualties so far - Had to cut one bolt from one LCA and busted two bolts off rear shock trying to remove.
But man oh man, you should see the front end! Looks sweet!!! Cant wait to get er done today!

I have the 3.5 super flex and changed a couple things up. rancho 9000 xl's on the softest setting, JKS lca, JKS disconnects (much better then what comes with the sf kit), JKS trac bar. very happy with the on road ride, doesnt hop or bounce all over the place...a stiffer then stock, but nice riding set up. very nice off road...I have a few bucks into mine but I would do it again...no regrets.

on edit: I had to put a 1/2 (home made) tc drop to get rid of a small vibration. you may not have to depending on yer Jeep...being that you have a 231 tc you may not

I have a few questions for you if you don't mind. i just bought a RE 3 1/2" with full leafs, and was wondering what snags you ran into if any? This is my first lift so i really don' tknow what i'm getting into. Do i need to extend my break lines? Do i really need to put the slip yoke in? And if so do i need a CV drive shaft to go with it? sorry for all the questions but i could really use your advice. Thanks.

lift questions...
Finished off my 6025 RE 3.5" lift tonight. Got my rear shocks in after all the bolts broke. Theres an article http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/.../Rear_BPEs.htm
that details how to get around the top bolts breaking when you remove your old rear shocks. I didnt receive any mounts with my shocks from RE. Ended up welding the rear sway bar mounts to the shock mount area. The rear sway bar mounts line up perfectly with the old bolts and you actually kill two birds with one stone - you can mount your rear shocks and get a free bar-pin eliminator kit. I think the article details how to mount with bolts so you dont necessarily need to weld....I do have a slight vibration so plan to install a TC drop kit to hopefully eliminate the vibes...that and an alignment next week...

i have the RE 3.5 super flex package and i have had it for about a year and a half and it works great im glad i spent the extra money for the full leaf pack o and the quick disconets work flawless for me i have not had any troubles putting them on or diconecting them and i do it every time i go off road you will also get a smother ride on road but a little more sway around corners
so all in all i would say go for it they are a well known brand and goo quality stuff
