running issues
I have a 1991 2door with a 4.0ho/5speed.
Took the jeep out wheeling the other day, ran great all day.
Went and picked it up from my buddys this morning, drove home not a
problem.
Hopped in it a few hours after parking it to go cruise around some and it started to run like crap soon as I fired it up!
idle is rough, give it a little gas and it will run smooth all the way threw the RPM's. But as soon as I get over around half thottle it starts to back fire a bit and feels like it looses power.
I tested the TPS, black wire had 5.00 volts, orange wire had .65 volts with no throttle, eased threw the throttle and it gradually raised to 3.75 volts. No jumps spikes ect. is 3.75 about what its supposed to peak at or is that to low?
my temp guage dosnt work, I thought maybe it was my CTS giving it issues all of the sudden, I unplugged it. only difference was that my check engine light came on..
I just had the trans out to replace my slave cyl, I figured maybe I didnt get my o2 sensor plugged in all the way, check it and is plugged in good still.
has new plugs/wires so that rules those out.
Not sure what to look for next, fairly new to jeeps but am mechanicly inclined. any ideas as to what it could be?
