Default Russssssttttt

So on my 94 xj its been rustin pretty bad but when i got under it the other day to work on my exhaust i noticed its gotten worse whats my best bet gunna be? cuttin it all out n tackin in sheet metal?

its a can of worms for sure, so if you start you'll be doing a bigger job than you expected.

but yes, take out the seats and carpet and cross your fingers.

can you weld? if so you can fix it pretty easy

i used rivets and they are totally fine. my floor is super strong, not going anywhere.

Ya I can weld alittle bit, but i think itll be a kinda a project once started. How this of sheet metal did you use??

Well 1st you should rip your interior out and see how bad it is. Might be better to buy replacement floor pans and go that route instead of patch panels

I have heard that the best solution is those rock guard rocker panels. Weld them in place, last forever, protect the rockers from....ah...rocks.

Floor pans? I'd rivet a sheet aluminum into place with a bead of silicone sandwich style - two thinnish sheets with the original floor sandwiched between. Years ago, I did a Dodge van with sheet aluminum and roofing ashphalt - the black flashing sealant you apply with a trowel. The rest of the van disappeared and the floor patch was left.

If you put in those replacement floor pans, are they welded/tack welded in place? Put bed liner on the bear metal before there put in then do touch up after there instaled?
