Rust around the windshield
Don't have any that I can see but have noticed it mentioned fairly often. Recently had all the body gone over and repaired if needed. Only cost $250 so there wasn't much at all. So as far as the windshield issue goes what can one do to prevent the area from rusting?

If your windshield has the original adhesive, it is probably dried out or drying out. You might want to have it replaced before it starts trapping water. Other than that, keep a good coat of paint around the frame (obviously).
Mine started bubbling along the top of the frame about 7 years ago, and I had a crack in the windshield. I took it to a body guy, told him I wanted the rust ground out and painted and a new windshield and that I didn't really care if it was a showroom finish. I think I paid him $275 for the whole thing, which I thought was a great deal and it's still holding up fine. I do wish I'd had him to replace the rubber seal at the same time though--it's getting hard and tearing in a couple of places.

Are you undercoating your Jeep?
Buy some FluidFilm and squirt it under the windshield rubber all the way around the windshield. Then do the insides of the doors and other places.

How clean and dry does the surface have to be to use Fluid Film, does it have to be spotless and bone dry or will it displace moisture?
I'm thinking more for doing the undercarriage metal where we've already had the roads salted.

I was hoping to find an answer to your question at the Fluid Film FAQ, but I don't see it there:
https://www.fluid-film.com/frequently-asked-questions/
I will have to defer the question to someone who has attempted it, as I've always applied it to a dry surface. I do know that it does thicken quite a bit in cold temperatures, but I don't know if it will displace moisture.
