Rust pics, please help!!

Yikes guys, I know I've got rust, but all these negative comments are making me nervous. Yes, I've got rust, but under rust, is good medal, and when an awesome restoration shop says they can fix it, I have to trust them. I look forward to showing the after pics, but if I'm wrong, then I guess I eat my words. We'll see. More to come in less than 2 weeks.

It's cool. I could be wrong. I guess in a deceptive world this guy who says he can fix this is taking me for a ride, but I'll take the chance. I spent the money to repaint her, she only has 79K, she's a 2001, so I've got to try after putting this much into her. We'll see I guess. I'll keep everyone updated. If I'm wrong hopefully I can save other's money.

yea with that much rust visible, how much is hidden. rust is like a glacier, 10% visible and 90% hidden. i would sell it and start with a fresh platform. or strip it of good parts and drive train then scrap it and get a new body

WOW that is some heavy rust. Did the guy have a plow on it. My 98 is from chicago and is rust free minus a quarter size hole on the floor and 2 little spots by the drip rails on the winsheild. Wish ya luck, wont know how bad till they start blasting it.

The OP took it to a shop in his area, he stated that shop specializes in restoration. I think that shop, who does this work for a living, and has seen the truck will probably have a better idea than you would.
I'd wait to hear back from the professionals before just deciding to sell the truck.

I went to the shop today, and they had the entire front diff off and taken apart. Got a better look and it wasn't as bad as I expected. They are preparing to soda blast all parts and the bottom, then seal up any spots, and repaint. I'll see if I can get in tomorrow and take some updated pics to post. I'm optimistic as the guy did a jeep before mine that was about 10 times worse. He said he had to rebuild almost the whole underbody. I'll keep everyone posted...

Here's some pics from today. I tried to get the rusted spot from the beginning. You can see how they soda blasted all the rust off, now they are going to fill in the bad spots i.e. reinforce the frame. Then they repaint it like they did the front differential. Let me know what you all think.
