I'll repeat to you what I said on the other site...
C. None of the above. Go with the bottom feeders and you get exactly what you pay for. Mismatched incomplete lifts with crappy parts, stiff springs, and substandard shocks.

Funny you guys all complain about Rusty's springs, there the very same you get when you buy a Rubicon Express lift... No difference...
Rusty's bad rep comes from years ago when he'd put stuff on the market with out proper testing. Now adays there in the top 3 for lift kits...
Most people I've talk to on line have never seen a Rusty's part fail, but they'll down talk his parts cause they read it was junk on some forum some where, by a 13 year old that don't even drive..

Thanks everyone for your response. I have been doing a lot of reading about lifts and whats hot and whats not. Although I would really love a RE lift, I'm on a 16 year old budget. I also know that everyone says to save and get the kit you want, but thats not going to happen. The RE kit that you buy also needs shocks, which is another 150 to 200 bucks. So I dont see that working for me.
ahh to be on a 16 y/o budget again. all my money that comes in i can spend on whatever i want. i would have no bills, didnt have to worry about rent, dont have to worry about food, cause mom always cooks. dude i am so envious of you.
just so you know, the RC 4.5" is like $650 and comes with hydro 8000's. on the website you can upgrade to the nitro 9000's for $25.

the only thing I have from rusty's is a front skid plate...which I welded their punched out name in on, then ground smoothe. the skid plate does great, but then again, how can you f*ck up on making a diff skid plate?

Opinions are like a**holes, etc, etc...
IMO no matter what you run, if you beat the crap out of your rig when youre on the trail youre going to break something.
Right after I got my BB in I went out with a few guys, one of them had a RE lift on his XJ, along with a few thousand dollars in additional mods, and beat the living hell out of it for fun (more money than brains) and was always replacing parts.
Im looking at the RC with the full leaf packs just because I dont like what Ive seen with AAL and I want a stiffer front spring, Rustys is just a little too soft.

rusty's front coils are the only thing i don't like about his products.
compared to my RE coils, his coils are sprung closer together, so they flat out before the RE ones do restricting the full stuff at full flex. also his coils are much fatter than RE's so i figured they would be stiffer.
compared to richards xj running a 6 inch rusty's full leaf kit, my RE flexes much better.
but i'd still get his hard parts, i'd just mix em up with RE's coils and leafs.

With rusty's you have to order the 180 lb front coils otherwise you are correct they are to soft. RE 3.5" coils if memory servers are 240 lbs per inch spring rate. Rear leafs are 190 lbs per inch. This is info from RE provided by Jeepin Jason on another fourm.

id be interested in feedback concerning the 3" 180 lb coils as well as the 3.5" leaf packs... do they sit level or does it give the jeep that big of a rake?

If you get an RE 3.5 kit you need a 3/4" spacer up front to level. With Rusty's 3" you need a 3/4 spacer up front to level as well. Once my RE settles as it has there is a slight rake which will be fixed with spacers. The rears did not settle as much and net near 4.5 inches of lift.

I am curious as to how a track bar fails. Was the tie rod too small and barely threaded on. I have used Rustys track bar for a long time with no problems. When I install any parts I always make sure they are safe and in good condition. I dunno I guess I should research the whole story.
