Default Scratching noise?

i haven't had any luck searching the wide web for this horrible scratching noise coming from somewhere in my drive train. It started about a week ago making this weird scratching noise i never heard before. Also it is having trouble shifting about 800rpms higher than what it usually is. Now its pretty much a constant scratching/grinding noise. It kind of sounds like a worn belt somewhere but metal on metal. The more throttle i give it the faster it scratches. Also when i start it about 50 percent of the time it revs up to 2000 rpm. Now its to the point i don't want to drive her anymore so i don't harm her any further. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any other ways to know if its going bad, kinda sounds like a bearing drying up.

Do you hear it with the hood raised (in the engine bay noise) or just when you're seated in your truck?

If it's an engine bay noise you can remove your drive belt and run the engine to hear if the noise goes away.
