screeching/squealing on deceleration.
looking at a mechanics special jeep.
its a 1989 jeep cherokee automatic 4.0l 4x4
the previous owner lifted it 4 inches and never reinstalled front driveshaft
( but i doubt that has to do with the problem )
annnyways.
the noise happens when you let off the gas.
when you start to slow down it starts squealing. idk if it has to do with the extra compression pressure ? somehow ? or something in the tranny somewhere. but i know its not brakes, because it happens even if brakes arent pressed.
only took it on a quick test drive so idk if at different speeds anything is different. but at about 25 slowing down the noise is pretty horrible haha..
oh and when i put it in reverse the noise started with idle.. didnt have to be moving or slowing down.. maybe that helps diagnose?
i took a video, working on uploading it so you guys can here the noise im talking bout.
any help would be apprieciated..
i plan on buying the jeep on friday for 600$

Automatic throw-out bearing? Is that anything like a muffler bearing? Do they interchange?
I'll just have to hear the noise. Nothing rings a bell.
It only does it when you let off the gas? None at all when on the throttle?
