sea foam trans tune/ trans flush
Hello Everyone,
My trans hasn't been drained for like 90k miles. I wanted to flush it but pulling off the supply to the radiator didn't seem like a good idea. So what I did was bought some 75k plus valvoline max life trans fluid and some valvoline. The max life says it has more detergents, etc. I drained the tranny then added the max life and reg valve (2 bottles max, 2 valve). I plan on draining and pulling the pan off in 3 weeks. I was also thinking that the day I go to pull the pan and change the filter that I would use some seafoam trans flush.
Has anyone ever used the seafoam trans flush? Also I was thinking of using some mobile 1 atf and some trick shift (2 bottles mobile 1 and 2 of trick shift). Supposedly trick shift has anti foaming agents which help alot. I'm interested in all thoughts. This same procedure is what I planned for the trans case. I already dropped 1 bottle max life in the trans case.

Instead of pulling the pan just drain the fluid via the drain plug. Drain, refill, then drive for a couple days. Repeat this 4 to 5 times and you will actually end up flushing the system. On the 4th or 5th time drop the pan and replace the filter. This will be a little easier on the trans, the gunk most likely is keeping some things working so you don't want to totally clean it all at once.

heh 3rd time. Surprisingly i just found a bottle of lucas transmission cleaner and slip limiter. I don't know why but its like 1 yr old unopened. I guess her x left it. Nice save.
I guess I could do another swap but I'll use walmart fluid for the 2nd fill then on the 3rd I'll pull the filter. Thanks.
