Secret mini camera or key fob thingy
Does anyone know what this is on my overhead console it was there when I bought it and I've always told people it was a security cam. Then one day my best friend tells me it's the key fob sensor.
It's the little black dot off center from where the flashlight is shining.

My buddy said he saw it in another xj and asked the owner what it was and they were the ones who said it was the key fob

My neighbor just bought a 96 and it has one. She was worried that it was a cam and asked me to take it out. Of course I laughed and took it apart. I would have to say it is for the key fob. It has three black sensors in a circle soldered to a board that has the Chrysler emblem on it. Why they would do and ugly thing like that is beyond me.

My 1994 has it. I bought a key fob from someone on here to use with it. I can't get it to work or I'm having problems programing the fob. It's hard to tell which.

I always enjoy telling people it's my security cam but now I'm glad I know what it really is (although I'm still gonna tell people it my security cam just for fun).

Put a sign on your window that says this vehicle is protected by a security camera.. it would either work... or the their would tear the crap out of your overhead console.
