Hey guys,

To simplify this for myself, I resulted to the dealer. I had only one key and no fob from the previous owner, and I wanted to get a spare and a fob. The dealer said they got a fob going just fine, but the chip in the new key was not taking to the car and not able to start it.

They told me: "we don't want to wipe the module and risk your car not starting again, and since Mopar discontinued this part (56009712AE), we can't source it, but you can" This has been hard for me to find so far.

I don't want just 1 working key, and need a spare that starts my jeep - Does anyone have experience with this stuff? I thought the dealer could pull this off for the premium I'm paying, but I guess not.

I appreciate any insight anyone might have!!!

There are some key places that can clone the key so the car thinks it is the same key , that way you can have more then one key .

Jeep dealer should be able to program keys. Call the local locksmith and ask them, as sometimes they have the right equipment to do it. If you had two working keys, you could program another using these instructions.
