Sell or Keep? 1998 Jeep Cherokee Issues
Hi all,
I have owned a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport for approximately 8 months, buying it for $6,000. In those 8 months it has cost me nearly $4,000 in repairs. Exhaust Manifold, Oil Pump, Water Pump, Radiator, O2 Sensor, Power Steering Leak and more. It has 235,000 miles on it. My question is whether I should sell it or not. How long in reality do these vehicles really last? Is mine at 235,000 miles on its way out. I'm looking at buying a 1999 XJ right now with 84,000 miles on it for $10,000. Is this a better option financially? I know these things are kind of money pits no matter what, but which of these two options, selling it and getting the 84,000 mile one, or keeping it and fixing it every 3 weeks is a better choice. Just curious what this situation looks like through someone else's eyes. Thanks!
