Default SEM Interior Tan Color

Hello i am restoring the interior on my xj and would like to get the right SEM color interior paint to match the OEM look. I have a 2001 tan color interior. I know SEM comes in many different shades of tan for their interior paint and would like to know which color is the right match for the factory tan. Thanks Mike.

You can request color swatches on their website.
Cause I did.
If you are painting plastics I think you want the Color Coat.
Just so happens I own an '00 with the Camel interior.
So I tried to match something up.
They do make a Camel, 15173, but I think it is a little dark.
They have a Lt Buckskin, 15093, that might be better but...
Problem is I really suck at this.
This is the type of thing that I would consult my Mom on. LOL.
If my Mom was still around I would ask her.
She was awesome at this matching stuff.

I saw they have camel but i also agree it seems to be to dark. I am just painting the plastics, so correct color coat would be the way to go.

It is one thing looking at a little color swatch.
Is another thing looking at that color on a big area IMO.
Little side story.
My father used to build houses. About 6 year. Wait until it was done before he would
even allow the realtor to show it. One time he let them show one early. People that bought the
house wanted to paint one room this certain color. Painter told her flat out she would not like it.
She had a color swatch.
But insisted. So they did. Once she saw it sheepishly said "Yeah you were right." LOL.

Napa just started selling some of the SEM products. You can get the Color Coat through them.
I know something about this cause I am trying to do something with door panels.
Camel Limited door panels with the fake would grain are not 2 tone like the regular Camel door panels.
I like the 2 tone but want the wood grain.
So I tried one of the SEM blacks to see if I could match it close enough to live with.
Had a extra panel so removed the inset and gave it a shot.

Not an exact match but I think I could live with it.
Got done taping off the door panels a couple days ago to spray.

Chances are your Napa won't have it in stock but probably only a day out.
If they make warehouse runs daily and your timing is right might even be able to get it the same day.

My point is order the swatches, buy a can in what color you think is close, give it a shot on something you don't care about, and see what you think.
Maybe the inside or back of a piece for instance.
