Default Serious Radio Problems

Hi i just installed an aftermarket radio in my friends 01 jeep cherokee yesterday and now her taillights do not work nor do her dash lights. There were two weird wires coming from the back of the stock radio, one was a park lamp relay output and the other was the dash lights. Ive never seen this plugged into the back of a radio before so im completly lost and dont know what to do. Ive looked all over the internet and cant find anything. I just need to know where to reconnect these wires so her lights work again or should i just tap them into the batter wire for the new radio? Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm betting the dash lights and the radio lights were originally fed power thru the stock radio from that parking light relay wire. I'm using common sense here. I bet the radio and dash lights were all in series. So, if I have this right. The parking light relay gets a ground through the dash light wire and the dash lights get power from the parking light relay wire. You should, in theory be able to short those two wires togther and get your dash lights and tail lights working again. I WOULD DEFINITELY LOOK AT A WIRING SCHEMATIC for this particular rig. Common sense didn't always come into play when Jeep XJ wiring was being designed, I've found. I hope this helps you.

Haha i hear you on that, deffinatly never seen anything like that before. I was thinking the same and asked a few friends and they seem to agree. So tie them both into the battery wire or connect them together? Im gonna try the batter i guess, since no fuses are blown it must be a circut problem. Thanks for the quick response ive been goin out of my mind trying to figure this out, she needs her car in 2 hrs for work and shes a delivery girl lol.
