How does the harmonic balancer look, btw? Still look straight and the outer ring even with the inner ring. When they start to fail, the outer ring can walk inward or outward and cause squealing too.

My '00 is the same way. But I believe it is more picky about the tension then the brand.
I run the Napa belt, which is a rebranded Gates, with no problems. As long as I get the tension right.
I use one of those Krikit II gauges to do so.
I was surprised at how far I was off on the tension when I did it with the "yeah that looks about right" method
and then checked it with the gauge.
