now this guy has me all paranoid that my motor isnt a "factory" thing... looks like the coolant bottle doesnt belong where it is.. ya'll tell me what you think [IMG][/IMG]

your fine thats normal renix and thats a pressure bottle note you have no radiator cap

They didn't make a wrangler in 96.. try search for parts for it

also check fuel pressure. it can cause hard starts rough idle and lack of power, just for another idea. I bet your auto shop teacher has a gauge....

yes thats a factory 4.0L.

alright ill check the fuel pressure.. it should be somewhere around 30psi correct?

should be 31 psi + or minus a little. all data says-
31 psi with vacuum hose connected.
39 psi with vacuum hose disconnected.

31 and 39 psi the book explains when it should be at each and how to do the test. if the pressure is too low it will be running lean and lean = hot

95 was the last year of the yj.
97 was the first year of the tj.

even tho that one is listed as a 96, it wasn't available till november of 96, so it was a 97 model year.

x2 on the IAC step up motor. clean it with some brake cleaner and a green scotch brite.

I wouldnt use break cleaner on the iac, get some throttle body cleaner for it.
