I know it's frustrating but the folks here are speaking from experience and just trying to help. I've known several XJ owners who drove with no steering stabilizer at all and had no death wobble. Steering stabilizers are neither the cause nor cure for death wobble. As others have said, they can mask the symptoms but when your heavy duty stabilizer wears out, your death wobble will return unless you address the root cause.

In general, XJs aren't POSs. Even if they were, saying it in a forum full of dedicated owners might not be the most effective way of endearing yourself to those from whom desire help

Good luck.

You guys are right. After all the searching and fixing, I found the problem. It turns our the left turn signal bulb was out. You guys helped a lot. I can't wait for the next project for you all to tell what I ACTUALLY did because I obviously don't know what I did to the vehicles with my own two hands. Typical auto forum nonsense. Nobody READS what the person says.

You are saying this ^ but the experienced guys that have ALSO replaced EVERYTHING found out that there were other factors playing a role in the problem. No one is questioning you mechanical skills they are just telling you what they have encountered. Many of the guys on here know every bolt on these jeeps and could build one ground up in a matter of no time. Take it as advice not people being critics. If you don't like what people have to say don't reply to what they have to say. Simple as that. Glad you fixed your problem, hope it doesn't come back for you. Btw they do have dual stabilizer kits for around $100. I believe rough country makes a cheap dual kit.

Don't really want to point fingers, but after having read your colorful responses, this could be the whole issue. Maybe next time save yourself the frustration & take your vehicle to a competent shop.

Cherokees belong in the dump. There is no such thing as a competent shop. Gee, what a great forum if every answer is "just take it to a shop and get ripped off". Be careful how you judge the competence of people when you don't know their history or thier experience level. I probably was installing engines and axles before you were potty trained.

Hahahahahahahahha

Maybe a shop would be your best bet. Cause i'm pretty sure "our every answer" was not to take it to a shop, but rather very common places to check when it comes to your problem. But since you refuse to take advice and want to respond in such a manner, we're done giving advice.

Have fun.

How many times were you asked about alignment? Hmmm? C'mon, how many times?

Six times. Over 50% of the respondents included some reference to alignment. Your response? You replaced your steering stabilizer, LOL! And you lecture us about reading comprehension? LMA

Having a Cherokee is advanced ownership, it requires patience, creativity and a healthy dose of listening to those who actually have experience. For those virtues, you are rewarded with an unbelievably fun and capable vehicle. It's what separates us from Prius owners.
