Post This shan't be the most exciting jeep question on Earth!

Hello,
I recently got a 1988 jeep Cherokee Laredo and noticed that my drivers side door closes whenever I leave it open. I checked and it has the hinge needed. The passenger side door has the same problem only the hinge isnt even there.

any suggestions on how to fix?

*also does anyone know anything about the prices of new suspensions [I believe its called that] to hold the trunk open?

any help would be much appreciated !!!

......uuuuuhhhhh that was a common discussion board smiley that means show us a pic and we'll be glad to help. No need to get your panties in a twist.

Btw, it is you're worthless, not your worthless. And I too have no idea what you are talking about.

Hahaha, you guys are crazy. We just like to see pics to help us see what your talking about. But my jeep has the same door issues. It could be that the previous owner took the door pins out because with mileage these doors begin to sag. When the doors sag with the pin in it, they make really rediculous noises and popping sounds when you open and close them. I have both of mine out and im not planning to put them back in. and as for the hatch they are called shocks and you should be able to find a cheap set on ebay or check your local junk yard.

Is that what the heck he was talking about? Yeah, mine popped too. I took out the pin. Not putting them back in either.

Yeah, now if I could just get my girlfriend to quit hanging on the door when she hops in I'd be good to go!

Haha, I hear ya. My wife is just over 5'. With 4.5" and 33's, she has a heck of a time. It is that rocker that she has to step over that gets her. I in the process of making a quick disconnect step I can put on for her.

Hahaha...Yeah, mine is 5'3" 115 pounds. I only have a 3 inch lift and she also has problems because of the rocker. But I think they really do it on purpose because deep down inside they think we like are trucks more then we like them.

Lol. My wife loves to wheel in it, and appreciates what it's capable of, but as a daily driver, she would definately pass. She did have a stock '01 and loved it, but not so much mine...

I'll tell ya... Ive been with my girl for almost 5 years, and she says I have commitment problems because I dont ever keep my cars for very long. I just dont understand them sometimes. But im very happy with my jeep and plan to keep it a while and i think it scares her a little. haha

fix doors: http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoDoorHinge.htm

fix rear hatch: go to auto parts store. ask for rear lift arms. ~20 bucks a piece.
