Shifter Swap
Ok, I think I read somewhere a wrangler shifter will go into the ax-15 in a cherokee. Is this true? I have searceh, but i'm not good at it. I want a better shift **** instead of mine that likes to come off.

Likes to come off? Mine was bolted down by the strongest guy at Chrysler; lol. I'm not sure if they are compatible but the AX-15 shifter has a nut that holds the **** down, so practically anything with a hole in it will sit there. If you're talking about the entire shifter assembly I'm gonna say no, since Hurst has separate part numbers for the two vehicles. Go with Hurst so you can quit rowing.

I heard that, don't know what to tell ya then. I only got the Hurst shifter as I was overhauling my transmission. Just an FYI, the stock shifter assembly is almost $300, discontinued through Chrysler, and you can't get just one piece of it. Considering the Hurst shifter, for the XJ, is also discontinued, you might be surprised how much a distributor will take off. I payed just over $150 shipped for mine.

I don't want the stock one, I don't like the press on shifter *****, they always come loose, get floppy etc. I want to get a threaded shifter handle.
