Default shock question y'all??????

Ok, right now my XJ has a 2" BB on it (came with it when I bought it) but my short-term plans are to go with a 3.5 RE. Cash flow is limited and my xj needs new shocks NOW!!!!......can I go ahead and buy and install a set designed for the 3.5 lift......as long as I stay on the pavement (grrrrrr) and don't flex anything till it grows up...will I be okay runnin these for a little while. I juust hate to buy a set of shocks 4 now....just to replace them 2 or 3 monts down the line to accomodate a new lift....
Thanx in advance...............Scott

Why limit yourself. Just adjust your bumpstops for the new shocks when you get them. Just get some metal and longer bolts and you will be set, then you can wheel while you are at it.

well with money situation tight. I'd probably take 1 off the front and 1 off the rear and measure them fully extended and see what the auto parts store can give cheap for now. but I'd go with gas filled shocks because of the quicker response only problem there more expensive.

This is where you need to do some planning. Choose your lift kit. Do some research, ask questions. Find out what shocks will go with it. Get some measurements, then get the right shocks and then the springs and such when you can afford it.
