Pulled this code today.

P0420 (M) 1/1 Catalytic Converter Efficiency Catalyst 1/1 efficiency below required level.

and besides destroying the ozone should i worry about it or erase it.

it wont erase, it will come back. all that means is you need a new cat. and you wont pass emissions. look in our vendor area they sell a VERY nice cat for a good price

or run prem gas and clear it.. it worked on my zj

X2 that usually means the cat is no good. Just replace it and you should be good to go.

But before I condemn the cat I aways check for exaust leaks around it first. That can also throw a code.

Yes, the P0420 could be the cat.

BUT, it could also be the after cat oxygen sensor that is providing faulty signals to the computer.

ive had a catalyst effiecency code for bad plug wires causing a misfire it could be a number of things but XJ cats kinda suck anyways
