It is pissing me off too. Still no lights. Still at work. I replaced ground terminal in October because it melted when I touch the starter with a wrench. So tomorrow I'll replace the red one and I guess hope for the best. Any more ideas? When that doesn't work I'll post again. Could it be fuses or something? But still no lights when I went back for the battery. So no lights and 100% charge so definetly not battery or alternator right? And no lights so hasn't even gotten to the starter right?

If you look on your posiiive cable there is a smaller cable that comes off the terminal. That is providing the 12V for all of the uswitched loads.and goes into a box with fuses and relays There is where your problem lies

If you shorted out your starter enough to melt the ground I can guarantee that you did some damage to other things. I think that there may be a fused link in that box that I mentioned. Check there.

I know it has been said but this is what you need to do. Take the terminals off the battery, and clean the posts from any corrosion. Clean the terminals of any corossion. Tighten them on there very tight, AS WELL as making sure the wires going in to the battery terminals are making a good connection to the terminals. This IS your problem more than likely since you have NOTHING and a good battery. This means the power is not getting through to your jeep, anywhere. For that to happen something has to be going on at the terminals, and not in the PDC (power dist. center. )
I have had this problem before many times, there were 3 different issues. 1) battery terminals were bad
2) battery was dead (not in your case)
3) CPS. This would not let me start it at all, it would just do nothing. The wires melted together and would not even let it turn over for whatever reason. The thing with this though was i had my radio and lights etc so this is not your problem.
If all else fails have someone bring u a different battery and try putting it in. If it works, keep it.. if it doesnt return it.
Good luck!! Just be glad your not in a mud hole, or in the woods! It could be worse!

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but there comes a time that you you need to admit that you are in over your head and call in a pro or at least someone who knows what they are doing. If you don't know to not touch the + side of the starter to ground or what color the + side cable is, it sounds like you need real hands on help. This is pretty basic stuff.

Ditto!
I've taken teminals off the wires and then taken 80grit sand paper to everything, just to bare good copper and lead and that has worked numerous times.. in fact I keep a piece of 80grit in the center consol for that reason

Here's an update though, it is pouring rain and I just rolled out of bed. So now I'm cranky and my manhood has been challenged. There is noway I'm letting this thing beat me today, rain sleet or snow

Good Luck and no one mentioned that a bad connection can be at the other end of the battery cable too. Check all grounds like the head to firewall ground and others. Them being faulty can cause the same symptoms you are describing. Again, Good Luck!!!!

It was the + terminal. I changed it and fired right up. There is a clock ticking noose coming from something in there. I took a picture I'll post it up when I get home
