Default Slider/rock guard opinion.

Any current opinions on which rock sliders are the best?

I'm looking for something that can be used as a footstep, also can stop or reduce some side hit damage. I live in the D and "peeps don't be drivin too good."

Yes, I searched.

Pretty sweet.

I've heard that the chrome version tends to rust alot faster.
Any truth to this?

Is it better to get black painted ones?
Do yall know if it has to be blasted on there, or if any specific brands rust out faster?

The Rusty's look good. Anyone taken a hit to them before?

you are asking about chrome sliders so this rig probably wont be wheeled. Why do you need sliders if you are not going to wheel it?

If you are going to wheel it chrome will not be in the same sentence with rock sliders. JCR,Rustys,AJ's all make good bolt on sliders. For a quarter of the price you can make your own

I know about them Crazy Detroit Drivers... Everytime I'm there I end up getting hit with someone. People just stop in the middle of the road and wait to get over for 10mins...

Oh well, Gotta love it though.

++Lions

Yea I like them sliders.

Nah, in Michigan, most of the 4wheeling is sand or mud, not really rocks.
The sliders would be nice though for the backwoods, as well as parking lots... I use my JEEP for deer hunting/retrieval.

It's a good bet that anyone who actually likes the Lions is from the D, and yeah, the people here are known for hitting your car/rig in a parking lot and rolling away like nothing happened.

I guess you could say...

"The rocks you dodge in Detroit are the ones the dude driving next to you just got done smokin'."

Ain't nothing wrong with some cherokee bling!
The only other thing I worry about is that if it looks too good, it'll get stolen.

Anybody throwing their door into me in a parking lot is going to have their door met with 3/16 thick steel tubing. I actually removed the side mouldings because the slider sticks out further.
My Rusty's sliders have'nt had to prove themselves yet on the rocks but I have complete confidence in them.
