Just fixed my header... no more tap tap tap, and it only cost me like 25$

Did yours sound like a engine knock or " valve tap"?

It goes away when driving but at idle you can hear it. My last xj sounded like a diesel haha bit ran great

Sounded like exhaust tick.. I had a tap but it went away when I took the engine apart and cleaned everything..... knock and tap and also slap are different things. Knock comes from bearings and sounds like it implies. Tap comes from the valvetrain and sounds like it implies, and slap is from the piston and sounds like the name implies.
