Some really bad info being thrown out here.
Chevy 231's (NP231C) found in S10/S15's are driver side drop. Their bolt pattern is not the same as a Jeep 231 (NP231J). Chevy used a 5 bolt pattern, Jeep uses a 6.
The t-case input gear from a chevy 231 will fit into a jeep t-case and visa versa. This is important when you take into account the differences in tranny output shaft diameter and spline counts.
The low range gears are also interchangeable. Jeep 231s use a 3 planatary, chevy used 4 in there standard case and a the more desireable 6 planatary in the HD cases.
Chevy cases are equipped with a 1.25" wide chain vs the 1" wide jeep chain. The wide gear from the chevy mainshaft will fit the jeep mainshaft but you'll need the front output shaft from a Dodge 231 t-case to complete this homebrew chain swap.

or you could replace the output shaft form the tranny so its spline and size match the input gear of the NP231J and get clocking ring or just get the kit from novak-adapt.com

i dunno alot of internal Tcase talk but so the final outcome he would get is a pass side drop bolt in tcase? well with a clocking ring... i dont ever plan on doing this but just learning... am interested in beefing up my Tcase one day and this may give me more of an idea... i guess the more planatarys the better? whatever they are... how do you know if its a HD? maybe in he ZR2?

This is these are the low range gears from my C and J cases. The planatary gears are the small gears around the outer edge. Make sense?

could i put the 231-c behind the turbo 350 but instead of splitting and swaping parts in t-case. when i shorten or lengthen the drive shafts put the chevy yokes on the t-case ends of my drive shafts
