David makes a good point. A length of chain that is visible will probably do the trick. It doesn't even have to be locked up, just visible from outside. Another solution is to just remove the spare and keep it in the garage. Thieves will not steal what they cannot see.

Out here, we have no gun laws. We do as we please, and when it comes to protecting our property and our family, people out here have no problem with shooting some SOB thief in the face, right where they stand, then sleep like a baby at night. This is the way it should be for all Americans. To hell with anyone who believes otherwise.

You'll find lots of ideas at http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=938281

I say build a storage rack bolted to the floor and put the tire underneath.

You could tint the windows, What they can't see they won't steal.

But it also goes the other way, "He has dark tint, must have cool toys".

Just hire a armed guard...

If you own a home in Kennesaw, Ga. you're breaking the law if you
don't have a gun. You'd be surprised at how much home invasion has
decrease since that law was set in place.

So far turboxj has the best solution. I prefer a 45 more but it all works. I love in te country so anyone ballsy enough to come up my drive way better know the sound of a gun. Racking. Just the sound will scare em away and a bright light. Have had it happen a few times.
