Default Smelling Coolant. HELP!!!!

its been about a week ago that ive been smelling the coolant. my rig is a 98' XJ with 113,000 miles or so. when i turn my defroster on i smell a strong hint of coolant. now i dont know if im leaking yet, ill have to check up on that. but what am i looking at in terms of possible suspects. i would hate to find out i need a new heater core. any ideas would be great. thanks....

mine did that, then one day it started leaking bad and steamed up the whole inside and its really hard to clean all of it off afterwards so fix it soon or just bypass it

its behind the dash, its not as hard as a lot of people make it seem i had mine out and back together in about 5 hours but that was with air tools but with hand tools i estimate it taking 7 hours
