Smoke in interior, appears to come from center console
So when I was on the highway today I rolled my window down and noticed a decent amount of smoke, or what appears to be smoke. It seemed like it came from the area between the passenger seat and back of the center console. Don’t know what it could be, maybe a wire in that area? I have a 94 with no power options so I’m at a loss. Also can’t replicate it easily, it seems like this doesn’t happen unless I’ve been doing highway driving for a little bit, 20 minutes or so. I checked the blower motor resistor, that’s ok. Took the console apart a bit, didn’t see any wires.

Did it smell like exhaust? Like insulation burning? Was the heat on?
Look underneath to check for anything rubbing against the driveshaft or obvious holes in the floor.

well, the floor pans are rusted out, I’m gonna take a closer look at the exhaust but i don’t think it had a very distinct smell. I thought that it was heater core, but it was very clear that smoke was coming from center console and not vents, ie turning on blower did not yield smoke.

Edit: yes it was the cat burning through the floor, will need some thermal insulation

Do you have any oil seepage from the oil pan gasket....at highway rpms, it could be ejecting enough oil to hit the exhaust pipe crossover....causing smoke....
