They make them....
Yes a plow is hard on any vehicle that has one installed.
I had an 85 with a 6 foot plow. It was a lighter one that used a small winch operate the lift and turn functions. It worked well for the long drive we had at the time. But it really did struggle in deep(12"+) snowfalls. And it would have been totally unsuitable for any kind of commerical use.

The was a factory snowplow option offered.
I only ever saw TWO of them.
And one belongs to my cousins wife.
My cousin David is my favorite.
Why?
HE has 2 Cherokees
His wife has one (Identical to Lil Red but w/plow)
His daughter has a 2dr
His son has a brick red Laredo...Literally, its brick red and they drew white mortar outlines like a brick wall.

when I was going to college a while back I was on work study and I was on the grounds crew where I actully got to drive and work on a XJ with a snow plow it drives like hell the front end is real heavy so the turning is real sharp and unpredictable and it was very hard on the xj it seemed that if we used it one day we were fixing on it for three. and where the plow mounted to the frame rails there was buckling and tearing.

Snow plow vs. radiator
Just picked up another jeep, this one with a 6.5 Western Plow rig and sold my F250 plow truck. The truck used to get really hot when going any distance with the plow on. I am worried this might be the same/worse with the XJ. Any you folks with plows redlining with the plow on? Thought about rigging up a snorkel or ??? to get more air across the rad.
