Default Speaker Problem

When I first got my jeep it had factory speakers up front and some kind of ford speakers in the back with the crappiest aftermarket radio I've ever seen. So I added in Kenwoods in the back and Panasonic up front with a Kenwood radio and everything worked fine for a few months. Then one day i got mad and slammed my jeep driver side door and ever since then the front two speakers have sounded like i busted them. But there is now way because they were working fine an hour before i slammed my door. I'm thinking loose connection but what would make both of my front door speakers be messed up but both of the back one's work fine? Any and all help is appreciated

Cherokees are notorious for bad wires... try running new ones.

Wiring disconnection may have caused this problem... Sound wires are sensitive that even a simple wire damage can mess it all up...

Maybe you accidentally adjusted the fade or balance on the stereo. The speaker wires split up from the harness at the back of the stereo so one speaker shouldn't effect the other. You can adjust the fade and balance to play one speaker at a time to see jf there's a difference.

Well last night I checked all the wiring behind my radio and it all looks fine. And now my back ones are starting to sound busted but those are barely 3 month old kenwoods. So do you think its something behind the radio I'm missing or do you think its something inside the door panel?

Do ya just cut open the rubber protector, or is there a more civilized way of doing it?

Im sure that your fronts have wires that are grounding out or your fronts are bad. they can cause other speakers to sound bad or the output of the stereo to be poor making them sound bad. I would take that drivers door apart and look at the wires there. and also run new lines thru. it will be a b!tch but worth it!! I had to do that on many 99-01 xjs that came into my circuit city shop, including my 99 4 door. if you have any questoins just pm me. worked on car electronics for 4+ yrs professionally. now just for fun.

you can pull back the boots going to the door and the frame of the truck. then just feed new lines thru.

If his wires were grounding, then wouldnt the speakers not work at all?
