Default Speaker Wiring Confusion

Hello all, I can’t figure out how to fix my driver side door speaker because the wires are all different colors. What is the connector in the first picture? It has a green/black and a green/red wire that I can’t find a connection to. The door jam only has one wire that is disconnected (as far as I could see). On the connector for the speaker, I can’t find a red/black wire that connects to it so I’m pretty confused. Can anyone help me sort this mess out so I know which wires to solder? Pictures would help. Thanks for help in advance. This is a 1999 XJ.

The extra connector is probably for the tweeter which was part of the upgraded 6-speaker radio setup. The light-green/black-stripe at the speaker appears to splice into a solid dark-green and then a light-green/violet-stripe

Wiring is usually the same for 1990's-era Chrysler products. The wiring info. provided above should apply to your XJ as well. The only differences in wiring are if you have the Infinity system, which is a VERY rare option on 1997-2001 XJ's, has "tweeter" speakers in the upper corners of the front doors, and amplifiers attached to the sides of the two front door speakers (one powers the left-hand side front and rear speakers, and the other powers the right-hand side front and rear speakers).
