Speedo/Odometer Issues
Hey gents,
I own a stock 2000 Jeep Cherokee. I recently repaired some wiring located in a wiring harness that had rubbed on the fuel rail (the repaired wires were two brown/yellow and one violet/orange). My fuel gauge wasn't working and some other gauges were acting up and the car ran like poop. I repaired these wires.
I am having an issue with my Speedometer/Odometer not working. I have double checked where I originally fixed spliced wires and everything seems fine there. I run the diagnostic check for the dash gauges and they all work so I assume the wiring between the Speedometer and the PCM is okay correct?
I installed a new sensor and checked everything associated with that (including connector and 29 teeth spindle, speed sensor mounting position. Everything is in order.
When I check the voltage to the unplugged sensor connector, I'm reading 5 volts on both the power wire and the speed sensor signal wire. Is this correct to have the sensor signal wire showing 5 volts? Any info would be much appreciated!

Did you get your speedo fixed?
2000 Cherokee Classic 4x4 no speedo or odo. Replaced 2 different speed sensors, no joy. Was wondering if you ever got yours right??
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
