spray on/roll on lining the inside of my xj?

Just break it and grab some new bolts, it's a whole lot easier. Let me guess back left driver side or back right passenger side both are a complete pain the @#@% 5/16 is the hole size I think.

I just did mine and love it... had no carpet, well no interior really when i got it so it made a big difference.
This is the day i got it.. Do you like my milk crate seat?
I got one can from Walmart and got 2 coats in the rear and 3 in the front.

Kinda late on the post here, but why couldn't he do dynamat like in the pic below and then spray on bedliner over it? It's a metallic surface so the bedliner should adhere to it just fine, right? Ideally this is what I would like to do to my XJ as well. The cost for all of that dynamat is around $200 though. The place that did the install in the pic said it took 100 sq. ft.
Here are the rest of the pics on that soundproofing install.

just did the back on mine only one coat for now, i will do another tomorrow, also i will be doing the front next week, has any one done it in a way where you would leave the carpet only on top of the tranny tunnel, with bedliner underneath it, or put another carpet just for the tunnel?its like the best of both worlds, but does it work?

In the Roofing section at Lowes they have a cheaper alternative to Dynamat. Its used for a heat/noise barrier on HAVC and serves various other purpose when dealing in roofing. It withstands the sun and rain so it should be ok for the floor of an XJ.
I took the carpet out and patched holes (rust belt state) then coated it with por-15. No more rust for me. After that I used the super-fancy high tech Lowes roofing insulation and glued it down. Now I had originally planned to reuse the carpet but thinking of ordering the ACC replacement vinyl floor and using that. Then I get rust proof, noise/heat barrier and and easy clean floor.

so a few questions for you guys
could i cut cardboard to the right shape to fit the floor, and beline that in, or would i be better off with say something like the roofing idea?? would this cut down noise and such?
also will bedliner bond to rubber undercoating? i was just thinking put this down first and it would provide a bit more insulation

in my rear hatch area i used the giant foam puzzle pieces that you see in like garages and stuff, i plan on gettin some more to do the rest of my interior, i like it alot, its really thick and its easy to take out if you wanna clean the floor, i ripped my carpet out by the way too, i bet it would help with the heat situation, roll on some bedliner then throw this stuff on top of it

Spray on liner comparison video
Love this post - very helpful in research and deciding how to fix my rust buckets. Love my XJ but did not really look hard at the floorboards before purchasing - I 've got some big issues down there and it's next up on my project list.
I found this video over on the wranglerTJ forum and thought it would be good to post it here - a great comparison of all the different liners - looks like Plastikote did the best -
I think the only one missing in the lineup was Monstaliner... What do you guys think?

The best jobs I've seen were all professionally applied, of course, but I have also helped a couple of people out who went the diy roll on route...had 2 buddies in Colorado that did a TJ snd a YJ using the kit and rollers. They turned out great. It was not a quick job, however. Took the entire weekend both times. Friday night was spent ripping every thing out, half day Saturday prepping then other half applying, Sunday was cleanup and reassembly. Involved process, but great results.
