Default Spraying coolant. What did I do?

Alrite guys, so I just finished puttin on the second gasket for my t-stat housing last night. I started her up a few minutes ago, and she started spraying coolant from under the housing towards the air-box. What's going on here? I don't think I cracked the housing or anything. Is there a certain way you're supposed to put the thermostat and housing back together? Is it possible the t-stat shifted when I was putting it back on and it caused it to crack or make a poor seal? I'm at a loss and low on funds. This is really starting to me off.

Take it back apart and clean up the sealing surfaces nice and dry. install thermostat with a little bit of form a gasket or something similar thats tacky enough to hold it in place.
Use permatex grey rtv on the new gasket just a little. and snug the bolts and let it dry for a hour.

So one or two little dabs on rtv on the t-stat rim to hold it in the cylinder head won't hurt anything?

if it didn't slip then I would say yes, you need a housing.

I had the same issue last week. I went through 3 aftermarket gaskets. I had to go into the city one day and drove past the dealership. On a whim, i went in there to get one of there gaskets (cuz mine was still leaking). Anyways, long story short, the mopar gasket has a red silicone bead right in the gasket. Put that on, and no more leaks.

Id give that a shot if your housing is not cracked/warped, the thermostat is in straight, and all your surfaces are clean.

Sometimes factory parts are the right solution.
