Spraying sideways
I'd like to spray out my transfer case well and there's only about a 1/2 dia hole to do it through. Does anyone know how to bend a straw or possibly any kind of mechanism that will let you spray out the inside of a compartment using only a relatively small hole for access. It would probably look something like a bendable straw possibly.
Thanks
Thanks

However, if you do want to suck the fluid out with a straw, use a Flav-R Straw (I recommend the Coffee flavor; it tastes better). See...they're bendable.

Cool at least that will get me out of a little more work. Haven't gotten the fluid out yet although it's been in there at least 60,000 so I guess we'll see. First time doing this so just thought it'd be a good idea to get her extra clean.

When you do get a chance to drain/refill your fluid I suggest you replace the internal wrenching plugs with hex head plugs from NAPA (see pic). The internal wrenching plugs are 10 MM hex. You'll need a 10 MM hex bit socket to get the plugs out.
Remove the upper (refill plug) first, then the drain plug. If you remove the drain plug first and can't get the refill plug out, you're in a world of hurt.
Plugs (replacements):
Tools. You can get the pump at O'reilly or Advance auto parts. TC takes about 3 Pints of ATF.
Part numbers for the NAPA plugs:
Worthless internal wrenching plugs:

Saccarin's fine in primates, rats have a unique problem that make them not do well with it. Saccarin was apparently even delisted from California's warning labels (but the air is still labelled, I'm told)
Nice writeup Ken. I'm going to pop out and buy those plugs. Sick of monster internal hex crap.
