So I developed this crazy annoying squeak that was seemingly coming from behind the dash, right up by the windshield. Every little bump it would chirp like crazy.

I was going absolutely insane, as I had conquered every other rattle and squeak in the whole XJ... She was so quiet and solid sounding!

Anyway, I spent about 4 hours trying to track it down. Checking screws, spraying silicone lube, everything I could think of. Still, I would hit the dash and it would squeak every time.

After all that, guess what it was...

I bumped my CB mic clip that I have mounted to the right of the steering wheel and it made the squeak!!! It was the mic moving around in the clip. So I bent the clip tabs a little to tighten it up and no more squeak!

Lesson learned. There must be some strange audio dynamics in the cab because I was dead set that it was coming from behind the dash.
