Starting and Idling Issue when hot
Good afternoon, I recently bought a 2000 XJ 4.0, and I'm having some issues with starting and idling when the engine is hot. Whenever I'm driving for more than 20 or so minutes and I turn the engine off, when I start it again, it takes a couple seconds (4-ish) to crank over and start, and when it does, it idles fairly low and irregular. I changed the spark plugs, ignition coil, and the crank position sensor, and the problem is still persisting. The next thing I'm going to look to is the fuel pump losing prime, but I would appreciate any input and suggestions. Thank you for any responses!

Old fart with a wrench
I'd say it's more likely the fuel is boiling in the rail when you shut it off so it has to clear the bubbles out in order to run right, so the computer is getting 02 lean codes and making the mixture too rich until it clears itself out. This is not uncommon on the XJ because it needs more airflow under the hood that it gets.
