Starting on the second crank
Just thought I'd share some stuff with you guys having the same issues as we were having. 96 xj would only fire on the second or third crank. Put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail. 41 psi constant, dropped with some RPM(I know little low, or hi, depending on what system we have)Shut it off, pressure dropped very quick. Blocked off the fuel line after shutting it down, fuel pressure held. Good sign the injectors weren't bleeding out, and that it was going the other way. Found a billet aluminum inline check valve on amazon, 12 dollla for 2 of them. Put one in the fuel line right off the tank. Thing starts on the first crank every time now, even in montana winter. Runs better too according to my girl/owner of said xj... Anyways, just an idea for anybody having the issue of the fuel pump bleeding out and having to crank it several times to get it going vroom...
