starts but won't stay running
New to the group, I have two Cherokees that I've had for ranch trucks for about 20 years now. my problem: truck was running fine then just stalled out. you turn the key and it fires like it wants to start then dies, if it sits for awhile it'll run for a couple minutes, then die. Hooked up the fuel pressure gage and pressure is fine and steady. It's like maybe the injectors are loosing their signal. feels and sounds more like a gas issue than electrical or maybe both. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

I don't know if this will help, but the exact same thing happened to my Cherokee, and I fixed the problem by putting more gas in. Just make sure to put in around 5 gallons or more, because it still wouldn't start for me after I put two gallons in.

Posting the YEAR is important as they're not all the same.

One's an 88 and the other a 90, i get them confused i think its the 88 that's having the problem. I'm going to get the book out and find the CPS and see if that's the problem , i thought if the cps goes you get nothing at all.

The CPS doesn't always fail 100%. I wouldn't rule it out.
Fuel pressure should be checked.

Same system 88 or 90. Try jumping the fuel pump resistor on the driver side inner fender.
