Steel or alloy?
#76
'try and not wreck wheels; I think the alloys are great all about (at least the ones I've had from 89-91 (XJ) years) ... steel can crack too... what is better for you is a thought.
... steel can crack too... : ever take a look at the driver's door where a power window unit mounts ( on multiple doors) I've seen welding to be done--
steel rims are somewhat thicker (than door material ) yet have to deal with some more intense pressures at times; loosing wheel pressure is considerable...
Both Alloys and Steel Rims can be welded.
Steel can crack absolutely. It conducts heat differently.
Again: .. what is better for you is a thought.
Thanks.

Steel vs. Alloy boils down to unsprung weight, those unfamiliar with the term just Google it lots of material. Racers use this as a factor a lot because it means speed and could apply to Jeeps as well.
