The older steering columns were basically GM columns, and there are a ton of youtube about rebuilding them.

You'll need some special tools as well. A steering wheel puller (of some kind) and Locking Plate remover. Both available to "rent" at a local autoparts store.

My '96 also require allen key style Torx bits AND 'security" Torx bits (they have a pimple that prevents ordinary Torx bits from working)

Is there a kit to rebuild the steering wheels? The problem I am having is the steering wheel grip is coming apart and all the wiring inside decided it didn't want to be behind the air bag and ended up on the floor.
