Oh..just I backed it off 180*, did 4 miles of "solid gravel", didn't feel a problem.
So 1-1/3 minus 1/2 turn.., at 270K, (allot of brutal), miles.
I now have it in over a half, and less then 3/4 a turn in,...... Maybe the first 130K was more "domestic" and another 130K involved allot of shocks/bumps.

I don't mean to sound negative, but the rear half is cracking to bits. I stripped the headliner.....looked for rack leaks. Bought a new hatch gasket and siliconed my tail lenses even.
Water comes in the cracks by the hatch hinge, (right where the roof rail feeds it), and even in the cracks top/rear of the passenger windows.
If I park "wrong", my hatch will close onto the taillight.

No, no "trauma". Just 12 years on a really bad road, and about the same with the "PO" (my buddy carl broke or ripped anything in reach, seats broken also, doors ign, signal ..all in reach). He is a marriage counselor.

Twice, I had a talented welder "do things". Once on my 66 Fort F250, one "corner" (with the tale-light and tailgate latch). He welded back a web of cracks in paper thin steel and made it back solid as a rock. That got the right primer and paint. Another time I straightened out a mashed Toyota, like foil, (with block& tackle). (I started ripping it in two). Then all the little cracks were welded, and again, solid as a rock.

Right now I'm thinking, NO. I'd go to something pre-99 at least..
Idk...if it cold be brazed. Decisions come up at 270 K. Shorter story. Got the steering about handled, and she get's nearly 25 MPG out runnen.
For a good welder to go over it, I think I would likely need to remove windows, and plan for some serous painting.
So to not answer your question, I doubt it. (the 84 here has the same cracks)

A major mistake a few years ago. I shimmed the throttle to let her run a bit out there. Since I hadn't checked the power steering fluid I toasted a perfectly good pump.
No, I don't "want" a non Renix Jeep. Also I'm not sure I "want" to replace my 23 year old Jeep with a 23 year old Jeep!
