Steering Stabilizer?

A second problem with the XJ design that encourages DW is the drag link connects to the tie rod instead of the steering knuckle, creating an extra pivot point and amplifying even WNL play, adding to the potential for DW:

That said, after 2 - 3 years I had a second event of DW last week (one and a half events actually-- one at 65 MPH that requiring stopping, another shortly thereafter at 35 MPH that decided to change it's mind and stop w/o slowing).
In my case, and what you might want to check, is that the steering was sloppy so I tightened that up quite a bit. 5/8" wrench, 3/16" Allen, PB.
But again, I'm certainly not advocating driving around with faulty front end components, and plan on slapping in some new Moog BJs anyway.

OMT, in the past my definition of DW included the prerequisite that you needed to feel that you were going to die. After the 35 MPH episode, I thought back on a few times when it felt like I was going over a patch of rough road, but the road itself really didn't seem to have much wrong with it it. Stopped after a bit w/o intervention. Throwing it out there there that perhaps DW can have premonitory events that require looking into.
