Steering wheel stereo controls
I’ve searched around for a solution to this and haven’t found anything. One of the things that I miss most from my 03 Mazda is the radio controls on the steering wheel, has anyone found a way to add them to Cherokees? There’s got to be someone who has the smarts to 3D print or something and program one to go where the factory cruise control would go.

They purchased a steering wheel or maybe just the wiring harness for an ZJ steering wheel from somebody on here.
I guess some ZJ's came with the radio controls on the steering wheel.
Said he was some kind of electrical engineer and could figure it out.
If I can find it will post a link.
Maybe you can find it before then.
Contact him to see if he made any progress.

The trouble that you would encounter is that the stock radios don't have input for the radios, but rather only outputs in the connectors. The faceplates don't release from the radios as far as I know.
If you upgrade to a radio with input, then you could write the controls easily and place them anywhere that you would like to place them. The steering wheel would be difficult because it rotates.

For the life of me I can't find it but somebody on here wanted to do the same thing.

Couple of issues:
You would need a radio the had 2 wire control inputs,, so you would need an aftermarket radio.
You would need a clock spring unit that has the additional 2 wires,, or steal the cruise wires,,
You would need a steering wheel that has radio buttons.
Chrysler used a lot of the same parts across platforms, so it is possible to find a complete column that will bolt in? did the ZJ have radio buttons?
