Stereo and door locks dont work as soon as I open the door
I have an electrical problem, on my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, every time I open the door. The door lock don't work and the stereo doesn't work either. But when the door is closed everything works fine. Need help on where to start diagnosing

There is a loom of wires that travel from door into chassis, located between door hinges. Will need to pull back the rubber sleeve and look for chafed wires, damaged insulation.
Here is a reference video, different year jeep but same principal.

^^^ What he said. Sounds like you have a shorted wire in the door harness, possibly at the pillar or door itself where the harness goes though. Thats why Door Open = short , nothing works. Door Closed = no wires shorting, everything works.

I recently diagnosed my power door locks and discovered the system is wired such that the door locks will not work with the key in the ignition or headlights/marker lights on while the driver's door is open. The locks should work with driver's door open and no key/no lights.
